That in 19:28 there is a mistake because Aaron or Harun (The first In line of Israelite Priesthood) Aaron’s sister Miriam has been Taken as Marry By the Author of Quran. And so there is an error.
My Response:
Quran 19:28
[019:028] "O sister (i.e. the like) of Haroon (Aaron) (not the brother of Moosa (Moses), but he was another pious man at the time of Maryam (Mary))! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor your mother was an unchaste woman."
Aaron the brother of mosses was first in line of Israelite priesthood. And Like Mr. Kimble says this was brought to the attention of the prophet.
Book 25, Number 5326:
Mughira b. Shu'ba reported: When I came to Najran, they (the Christians of Najran) asked me: You read "O sister of Harun" (i. e. Hadrat Maryam) in the Qur'an, whereas Moses was born much before Jesus. When I came back to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) I asked him about that, whereupon he said: The (people of the old age) used to give names (to their persons) after the names of Apostles and pious persons who had gone before them.
Translation of Sahih Muslim Book 25, Number 5326:
This explains
Marry and her Cousin Elisabeth came from a Priestly family and therefore when she came with baby Jesus in her arms with the usage of the word sister of Aaron marry was reminded of her linage by her people and her unexceptional morals of her Father and mother .
Mr Kimble says : Mary is never addressed anywhere (and for any reason) as “the sister of Aaron
I Agree she is not But Jesus is Son of david in [Mathew 1:1] as Son of Joseph [Luke 3:23] Begotten son of God [John 3: 16] (though its not in the RSV) But still How many Fathers did Jesus have if we take the English translation literally it comes to be 3 or 2 anyway the christian will always say son here means Descendent.
In Semitic Languages sister means descendent too.
Like Khalifa translates Ukhta Haroon as Descendant of Haroon or Aaron
Khalifa: [019:028] "O descendant of Aaron, your father was not a bad man, nor was your mother unchaste."
Here in the Arabic construction of the sentence, sister is also considered as a descendant.
